CASE STUDY / PUBLIC SECTOR / VIDEO ADVERT
How do you explain a Europe-wide programme in 30 seconds?
For Poland’s National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes at NCBR, we produced a promotional video for Horizon Europe, shown on screens aboard PKP Intercity trains.

CLIENT AND CONTEXT
The National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes is part of Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). It helps research organisations, businesses and other applicants participate in Horizon Europe through information on funding calls, training and consultations.
THE CHALLENGE
What did the video need to bring together?
- Research and development in a short format.
- Readable on-screen text and a message that works without sound.
- The institution’s visual identity and a robot character.
- The technical requirements of the playback screens.
THE SOLUTION
A production where every second counts
We planned the editing and amount of text to keep the video easy to follow during a train journey.
Film footage introduced the context of innovation, on-screen text conveyed the key information, and an animated robot gave the video a distinctive visual character.
The production combined licensed stock footage, animation, editing and generative tools.
OUR SCOPE
What did we manage?
Rek House managed the project from creative direction and scripting through storyboard reviews and production with the creative team to revisions and final delivery. Our scope included footage selection, development of the animated character, editing, on-screen text, colour grading and delivery versions. The client provided subject expertise and brand assets, and approved the content and visual treatment.

FAQ | VIDEO CASE STUDY
The KPK Horizon Europe video.
What did Rek House produce for Poland’s National Contact Point?+
We produced a 30-second Horizon Europe promotional video for the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes at NCBR. It was designed for silent playback on screens aboard PKP Intercity trains. We combined film footage, readable on-screen text and an animated robot, then prepared the files to the delivery specifications.
How do you make a video advert work without sound?+
The key information needs to come through in the visuals and on-screen text. For KPK, we planned the scene order, amount of text and reading time so passengers could understand the message without voiceover or music. The edit accounted for the distractions of a train journey.
How can a research programme fit into a 30-second video?+
Start with one main message. This video focused on introducing Horizon Europe and the support available from the National Contact Point. The script and storyboard helped distribute the information across scenes and check that viewers had enough time to read the text.
How was the animated robot created?+
The robot’s appearance was developed from reference graphics supplied by the client. It became a distinctive part of the video’s visual narrative. Its movement and gestures helped attract attention and guide viewers through a video watched without sound.
Was AI used in the production?+
Yes. We used generative tools to develop the animated character. The production also involved licensed stock footage selection, editing, on-screen text and colour grading. These elements were brought together in a single video tailored to the communication brief and playback conditions.
Did Rek House prepare the files for PKP Intercity screens?+
Yes. We prepared delivery versions to the supplied specifications for screens on PKP Intercity trains. The client received a complete set of materials whose technical compliance was confirmed by PKP. Adapting the files to the medium was part of our production scope.
Which production stages did Rek House manage?+
We managed creative direction, scripting, storyboarding, footage selection, development of the animated character, post-production and delivery of the final files. The client provided subject expertise and brand assets, and approved the content and visual treatment. This gave the client one partner coordinating the complete process.
Who could benefit from a similar promotional video?+
This format can help institutions and brands present a programme, service or initiative on screens watched without sound. The concept should reflect the playback location, video length, screen size and viewing distance. In the KPK project, those conditions shaped the narrative, editing and amount of text.
